Keir Surgical turns 85

Vancouver, BC – Keir Surgical Ltd., a Canadian surgical instrument company, turns 85 years-old this year. For the last 85 years, the company has provided its customers in British Columbia and Alberta with quality surgical products and exceptional service. In the last 5 years, Keir Surgical has grown its presence nationally, and now has customers across the country with Territory Managers in each province.

In recent years, Keir Surgical was awarded the MedBuy contract for surgical instruments, a 5-year buying group contract. MedBuy, a national buying group, represents over 50 major hospitals across Canada. In 2007, Keir Surgical and Michael Fish, Keir Surgical’s president, were awarded the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest scissors. The scissors were unveiled in Victoria, BC during the OR Nurses Conference.

On January 31st, 2008, Keir Surgical recently completed its acquisition of Pike Surgical Inc., a Calgary, Alberta-based surgical products company focused on plastic surgery.
